Marvin Development has been building Energy Efficient homes for over 20 years. Our Aurora Award for Energy Efficient Home, first presented in 1993 and earned again in 2006, is a testament to our early interest as well as our continued interest in caring for Mother Earth. Our Sabal Palm and Royal Palm houses, located in the Veranda Community, are certified “Green” by the Florida Green Build Coalition, however, all of our homes are built to help alleviate ecological stress a home places upon our environment.

Green Building isn’t good for just the eco system, it’s also good for your wallet! Tinted windows on a home lower the amount of energy needed to keep it cool, thus resulting in lower electric bills. Conscientiously including plants which do not consume a large amount of water, and rock-scaping, may also favorably affect your water bill.

Not only will you benefit economically from Marvin’s green homes, your body will thank us too. Tile flooring, small grout joints and CRI certified carpets minimize allergens and the high efficiency AC filters in combination with a return vent in each room, will more effectively circulate cleaner air throughout the home. Exhaust fans in the bathrooms, positive drainage systems and two foot roof overhangs all keep unwanted moisture away and keep you healthy.

Our commitment to the environment has been a hallmark since we were formed in 1972. We are the leading builder of energy efficient homes in Southwest Florida, and have been since 1982. Not only do we build our homes to last, but we build them in such a way that the footprint we leave on our unique southern eco systems is very small. By building green, our age old motto of “The Builder Who Puts You First” still holds true even if our customer were Mother Earth Herself.
